Through testing at the British Institute for Orthopaedics & Musculoskeletal Science, Medical Grade Foam or know in technically as ‘High-Specification foam’ is now accredited by the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (N.I.C.E – clinical guideline 29), as well as the Chiropractic Patients Association. Mammoth now introduces to the public a new generation of superior performance mattresses.
The specialist foam not only provides superior postural support, but its unique bio-design structure ensures is works under a cool environment - a real benefit over memory foam and other mattress materials.
The advanced structure not only ensures a deep restorative night’s sleep but provides also incomparable comfort, helping with common back complaints and those that do not sleep well.
Where did High-Specification Foam come from?
High-Specification foam is a medilcagrade foam - a new generation of high density foam polymers.
It was designed to overcome the inherent side effects of memory foam. Unlike memory foam, high-specification foam is designed specifically for the human body.
This world leading technology was first introduced this millennia as a bio-surface in
the specialist fields of spinal injury’s, intensive care and wound care - a hostile healing environment where the levels of sleep, pressure distribution, body heat &
hydration can mean the difference between life and death.
Over the last 30 years Memory foam has done a great job in replacing the counter pressure problems of sprung mattresses, and also has assisted in the
hygiene, anti-fungal and hypoallergenic concerns of old school sprung technology, but time
has now come to move on again.
The key problems inherent in memory foam that had to be overcome where:
- Overheating, increased sweating and subsequent dehydration from the fluid loss
Memory foam moulds to the body by heating up first. Unfortunately the foam retains the heat from the body making you and the whole mattress artificially hot - an
uncomfortable situation to endure in the summer months. Therefore, Memory foam is
also affected by room temperature and is thus not a constant factor in your sleep regime. For example during the British Winter months a memory foam mattress
will often be very hard at first because of the cooler room temperature, meaning you
do not get instant comfort or support.
- Restricted mobility & reduced circulation and healing
Because memory foam has to heat up before it moulds and adapts, repositioning during the night can be difficult. The body tends to get ‘locked’ into the bed. Both
U.S & British medical experts assert it is healthy and actually genetically instinctive to
moderately reposition up to 50 times in the night to help general circulation and healing. This can prove very difficult when locked into a memory foam mattress.
- Inferior support & spinal alignment
Again, because of the heating process, depending on the temperature of your body, your partner’s body and the external temperature of the bedroom, the
support you get will differ every time you sleep on the mattress. Also the density of the foam
is the same from head to toe and does not take into account the differences in body weight and size from head to toe, therefore negatively effecting your
optimum postural positions.
Memory foam is now an old technology of over 30 years. It was originally designed to absorb G-force pressures within space vessels, and was not designed
specifically for the human body to lie on. (Just think about how much mobile phone
technology has developed over the last 30 years from the early 80’s to the modern day iPhone).
Mammoth Sport’s High-Specification foam mattresses prevent overheating, distribute pressure evenly, and give an immediate response to our body’s contours.
How then, is High-Specification Foam different from Memory Foam?
Simple. High-Speciation Foam is not sensitive to normal room and body temperature fluctuations.
This means it helps regulate body temperature as it does not heat up like memory foam, helping against dehydration, overheating, and disturbing a partner from
the discomfort, ensuring a deep, undisturbed sleep.
The advanced technology adapts and shapes instantly to the body for immediate support, immediate comfort, ensuring sleep and recovery times are maximised.
Night time back pain, morning aches and stiffness are therefore dramatically helped.
What exactly is Mammoth’s High-Speciation foam?
Mammoth has taken the physiological and psychological benefits of High-Specification foam to another level of quality through its clever design.
Combing a formula of 4 key elements;
- Depth
- Density
- Nominal Hardness
- V-Cut Castellation Design
Combining optimum depth and density ensures Mammoth’s High-Speciation foam will help give you undisturbed deep sleep not just now, but for years to come.
Mammoth’s High-Specification foam is tested to handle human weights of up to 40
stones! So we know your investment will last for years to come.
Zoned V-Cut Castellations mimic the shape and weight changes in your body, ensuring optimum posture, back care, pressure relief and circulation.
Combined with the depth, density and nominal hardness formula, the castellated structures on one side ensures your Mammoth will never need turning so you do
not break you back trying to maintain the mattress. (After all, we are in the business
of trying to maintain your back!)
Why should I invest in this technology?
Best described in the words of our customers:
“Praise where praise is due! We bought a Mammoth Sport Mattress (Super King) 2 days ago, and both my wife and I have both woken up the last two mornings
with zero aches or pains in back or limbs, amazing. Good product. Long may it last!''
“I would not hesitate in recommending this mattress to anyone, sporty or otherwise, as it provides numerous health benefits."
